Today we'll start with our reading time. I'll come around and check last week's goals. We will also take a few minutes to discuss what to do when you finish your first book.
Next we'll correct yesterday's MC practice passage together and reflect on the process. In partners you'll write a one-sentence claim addressing how this scene is pivotal for the development of John's character.
Finally, we'll move back to our summer reading novels. Pick the character you feel develops from youth/innocence to maturity. Find a pivotal scene that highlights this. You will want to mark this passage and re-read it several times before Friday's end-of-unit assessment.
If we have time, we'll take a few notes on integrating quotations.
