- Multiple pieces of evidence clearly connect to the argument and allow for insightful commentary that goes beyond summary.
- Appropriate quotations are integrated into the writing and support the argument.
- Closing sentence appropriately concludes the paragraph and is not redundant.
- Paragraph contains an insightful, sophisticated argument that goes beyond obvious, surface-level analysis.
- Overall, the writing is nearly error free, logically organized, focused on the prompt, and sophisticated in style (not redundant in structure or word choice). Strong, active verbs carry the paragraph.
